All people have seen the grace of God because it has appeared to everyone, Titus 2:11 and Rm 1:19.
Tit 2:11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Ro 1:19 ¶ For what can be known about God is plain to them because God has shown it to them.
God’s grace saves us (Eph 2:8) from His wrath as it is revealed against ungodliness, Rm 1:18.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ro 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Christians are elected or chosen based on God’s grace, Rm 11:5. People must decide to cooperate or not cooperate with God’s grace.
Ro 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
There are two people involved here. A person giving Grace and a person receiving grace.
We are not capable of resisting God, but He can and will resist giving His grace to a person based on whether they are willing to humble themselves before Him or not, James 4:6. He will not teach a proud person how to deny ungodliness.
Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
God wants to save everyone (1 Tim 2:4), and His Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness.
Without His grace, a person cannot learn to deny ungodliness.
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God’s grace teaches a person to deny ungodliness, Titus 2:11-12.
Tit 2:11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Unbelievers can see the grace of God teaching the people who have humbled themselves before Him.
Unbelievers can see that Christians are learning how to deny ungodliness.
Unbelievers however, refuse to humble themselves before God.They do not like to think about God or retain Him in their minds (Ro 1:28), let alone humble themselves and pray to Him 2 Chron 7:14.
Ro 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
No wonder unbelievers are hostile towards Christians. They see something (God’s grace) but refuse to do what is necessary to obtain it.
