Unbelievers have ruled over Christians for generations.
Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (KJV)
Example #1. Le 26:14 ¶ But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; 15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
Example #2. Jg 2:14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
Jg 2:22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not. 23 Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
Example #3. Ne 9:27 Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
Ne 9:30 Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.
Example #4. Eze 11:9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
Eze 11:21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.
Conclusion – It is clear that God’s people have been given into the hands of the unbelievers in politics and most other venue’s of public life. The fact that God’s people are so enmeshed in the unbelievers way of life is not the unbelievers fault.
Just like believers, the unbelievers always reap what they sow, however they are not aware that there is another way.
God will not show unbelievers that the Christian way of life is a reality until thay follow Jesus.
God has not given them the power to become the Son’s of God, John 1:12.
He has however, given this power to believers.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name
Believers can choose to ignore this power to become Godly, or they can embrace it, and the entire world will share in the results of their decision.
This means that the conditions in the world, are the fault of believers not living Christian lives. Christians have quite literally reaped what we have sown.
Quite literally Christian doctrinal stances are “Babylon” or “Confusion”.
The enemies of God rule over God’s people as a completely “just condition”.
This is the result of disobedience on the part of individual Christians.
The Lord has not to this point sent mass revival to His people and Christians who refuse to live the way Jesus told us to live must live with the unbelievers ruling over them.
Even in the case of widespread disobedience, if an individual Christian decides to stop sinning and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ God can bless them overwhelmingly.
Such a person can rule in the midst of their enemies. This ruling “in life” may take the form of the kingdom of God ruling and reigning in their heart.
In other words – They will inherit the kingdom.
Ro 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
(KJV)
They will be able to do the right thing with a joyful and peaceful mind in all situations.
However if we persist in rebellion God tells us in Judges 2:21 that we will have to live with the ungodly ruling over us.
Jg 2:21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations (Unbelievers) which Joshua left when he died: 22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
No amount of complaining about the Government or world will change this. It is a direct reflection of how successful God’s people are in their pursuit of Godliness.
The cause and solution to this is easily understood personally, and in a worldwide sense –
La 1:10 The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
Joe 2:17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
