1 Cor 1:8 speaks of a confirmation process that happens on the “Day of the Lord” which results in blamelessness.
1 Co 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Daniel 9:27 speaks of confirmation of the “Covenant”.
Da 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Being “blameless” is the result of confessing our sins to Jesus.
Confirming our Covenant with God involves both parties to the covenant living up to the terms of the covenant.
Eze 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
Passing under the Rod involves the purging of transgression Ez 20:37.
Eze 20:36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
As God teaches us to deny ungodliness we learn not to transgress as the application of the Discipline called the “Day of the Lord” purges us of sinful tendencies.
Tit 2:11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13 (RSV) awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
So Christians are waiting to be cleansed of unrighteousness so that Jesus will “appear” within them.
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
